This is nothing to do with gaming, purly for a small media PC I have for films etc.
I bought or have ordered a new 4k Screen HDR etc, my current card is a small AMD Radeon™ HD 6570 , of course its just dawned on me since things have changed \I might have to change up my card.
I assume 4K wont be an option on my current card, so wondering whats a simple card jsut for playback.

DisplayPort is limited by the cable not the port. So you should be able to run 4K on any cable but to run at a higher Hz you need a better DP cable version. HDR support was added to DP cables with version 1.4.

I've never seen a card before that has a limit on it's max resolution so I'll go out on a limb and say ignore it. I mean it can run 3 monitors at 2560 x 1600 so it should be able to do 1 at 4K.

Thanks, this was the confusion I was having, and trying to read about most talk about 4K gaming which is another beast.
It seems to be about for 10bit etc HEVC codecs is how much work the GPU will take off from teh CPU, seems to be all graphic card decoding, but yes, I wasnt buying anything till the screen arrives and see what it does, also order some 2.0 HDMI cables to be sure its not a connection issue.
