Card for around £250

I was looking at getting a GTX570 but noticed the OcUK GTX580 at £300 on specials.

Would I be better off getting a branded GTX570 like the Gainward or spending a bit more on an unbranded 580? Is a 580 really worth £100 more than the 570? (ocuk 570 - £200 or ocuk 580 - £300)

I will be getting a Hazro screen to go with this

I'd prefer the 580 and at £300 it's a good deal, I personally wouldn't go for a 570. They're great cards but they don't OC well. Alternatively, if you want 570 performance for much less money then this may be the biggest GFX card bargain in the UK at the moment:

The OEM GTX 570's and 580's have sold out so that's one decision you don't have to worry about.

They hadnt earlier. Interesting, is the 480 a decent card for £160. Whats the OcUK branded cards like (I hate noisy coolers)

Edit - the 480 is actually faster than the 570. If anyone can comment on ocuk branded cards ill be getting one soon

I don't think you'll regret it. You can OC to 580 performance for £160. Unbelievable value. If the card is too noisy you've got plenty left in your budget for an aftermarket cooler.

Hopefully BF3 will be playable in high settings now and pc can perform alright for a couple more years

A 480 should last a couple more years at least, at stock they're not too much slower than a 580.

What's the heat, noise and power usage like from the 480? I was debating between 570 & 480 but ended up going with the 570 as it produced/used less of the latter and seemed to be better in newer titles. Although I did pick up on the 480 having a better memory bandwidth.
