Card game (CCG)?

Spring cleaning my room, I found my old (very old) copy of the Pokemon Trading Card video game, for the Game boy! And it reminded me how much I loved that game, not beause it was pokemon, but because I love that sort of game in general. I dabble in some Magic the Gathering, but don't really want to play it online, since I buy enough cards as it is in real life, I don't want to buy virtual cards as well.

So anyway, are there any CCG style games on the PC? Preferably offline, but I could go online if that's the best option. Nothing where you have to buy the cards though. I tried out BattleForge, but that's not really the sort of game I'm after, I'd like something more card based. The Pokemon TCG one is the best of its type I've played, I may go and dig out my old GB and give it another run, thinking about it.

Worth looking it up to see if it's still available! And no, we're not too old to still be playing Pokémon!

Pokemon Play It! ?
That's the only one I've found, from 1999. I'll check it out for sure. And no, nothing wrong with pokemon, there's deffinately worse card games out of there. But I'm after any games of that style, where you collect cards, build decks and so on.

Thanks for the link, funnily enough I already play that over Kongregate, its a good game, not quite what I was looking for, but its something I go back to from time to time.

Poxnora is pretty good, a mix of CCG and Turn-based strategy.

I remember playing the Beta version of Yu-gi-oh Online and that was really great.

I hear it's gone free now, and you don't need to buy the passes that let you duel people and get cards for winning.

i always liked the final fantasy 8 trading card game. i do remember there was an online version somewhere on the internet...

Triple triad was awesome! The best card game of all the FFs by far, unless you mistakenly spread the random rule all over the world :mad:

i also hated that rule. i dunno whether its worth it, but there is an online version here which adds a load of cards from the different games.

Awesome - I'll be checking that out when I get home. At half past eleven. Sigh.

At least it'll put off starting another toon on LotRo - I will get that undying title!
