Hi Folks,
I am considering this card as an upgrade to run a new monitor I fancy:
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5160#ov
Will this Gigabyte card enable my current set-up (shown below) to run a 34" LG-34UM-95 at full 3440x1440 screen resolution at 60 Hz? I’m not a gamer but work extensively with Photoshop and Cyberlink Power Director, all 64bit.
My current set-up would then be:
700watt power supply;
Intel i5 Haswell 4430 3GHz Quad Core 1150 Processor;
ASRock H87 Pro4 Full ATX Intel Skt 1150 Motherboard;
Team Elite 16GB DDR3 (2x8GB) 1333Mhz Memory;
Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5 Dual-Link DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card;
Samsung 250GB 840 Evo SSD Series Hard Drive;
LG-34UM-95 monitor.
LG won’t commit and Gigabyte just say it will display at 3440x1440 but won’t comment further. I just don't want to end up with a card that doesn't have the grunt this monitor may need to perform well.
Cheers,
Gene Stevo.

From the FAQ section for your card.

What is the maximum display resolution it can support?

It varies by the output, please refer to the information below: Dual Link DVI: 2560 x 1600 @60Hz
DisplayPort: 4096 x 2160 @60Hz
HDMI: 3840 x 2160 @30Hz

What is the DisplayPort version?

The DisplayPort version is 1.2.
which supports 4K @ 60Hz. All looks good to be honest. Having said that I know nothing about Photoshop and Cyberlink Power Director. The card certainly doesn't have the grunt for 4K gaming, but you knew that. :D

Thanks so much for your prompt response. It's quite a costly monitor so I can't afford another zillion quids for a Veyron type graphics card.
Feel a bit more confident now. Just got to convince myself I really, really need it ;)
Thanks again,
Eugene.
