Hey,

Does anyone have a card recommendation for the Shuttle SH67H3 I have on its way? I've no preference over ATI/Nvidia, my last card was a 8800GTX.

Looking to spend around the £200 mark, is the ATI 6950 still worth considering for that kind of money? Is there a huge difference between the 1gb and 2gb versions?

I'd probably be looking to upgrade to the 500w PSU as well as their calculator is putting the load at around 320w...

Cheers,
Andy

I would get a 650W PSU if you are looking at the 6950..

I would get 2GB because it will help with the AA and higher resolutions.

Only thing letting you down is the H67 chipset which is the bottom end of the SB chipsets and quite, let me say this nicely, "crap" at overclocking.

I would get the 6950 though.

Shame really mate, they've got a Z68 shuttle.
I've used that shuttle before with the 300W PSU, what CPU you using? I ran a 6950 1GB on the 300W as told to, though if it was for myself, I'd say the 500W would be fine for it.

I'm not worried about overclocking it at all, that's not my plan. Plan at the moment is to use an i5 2500 in it. The only game I occasionally play at present is CSS but it would be nice to have something that'll at least run some of the later stuff as well.

The SH67H3 uses an H67 motherboard so cannot be used for overclocking. The 500W Shuttle SFF PSU runs my HD5850 1GB overclocked to around 925MHZ to 950MHZ fine.

I would consider looking at the SZ68R5:

It comes with a Z68 motherboard and the 500W PSU as standard. I would look at the thread as there are Core i7 2600K overclocking results in it.

cheers guys.

I've cancelled the previous order for now until I can find a decent supplier for the SZ68R5, it'll probably give me more options and should work out the same money wise as I won't need to upgrade the PSU later on.

cheers all!
