how does the 4870 differ in comparosion to a gts 512 when setting up the power cables.
are cables provided with all 4870 cards
also
do the sizes of 4870 differ from one conpany to another ?

The 4870 differs as it uses 2x 6 Pins instead of 1x like on the GTS 512, also yes, the cables are supplied and the size does not differ between manufacturers as they are all based on ATi's reference design.

It's best if the second 6 pin socket has a seperate power cable from your power supply.

If your power supply doesn't have another 6 pin pci-e cable then you use the 6 pin to molex convertors that come in the box.
