Got a machine here that has just had a new mobo, and works perfectly... it has a card reader built into the case, but the connector isn't standard...
It resembles a power led, or power switch connector, only it's a 3 + 1, reading "USB 1 +"
"USB 2 +"
"VCC 1"

the plus 1 part says GND on it.

Where do I connect it to the motherboard?

I tried both the top row and bottom row of a usb connector but on both occasions it caused the machine to hang on the Asus start up screen.

Thats odd, are you sure you have the right connector? If so could you possibly post a picture of it? Please let me know what motherboard you have as well as it can help me to find the right place for you to plug it in.

Sorry mate I've only got a duff webcam here that won't focus so you won't be able to see it clearly...

If you go by my initial description though you should be able to make sense of it? Thanks again!
