Hi guys, I'm trying to troubleshoot this USB3 card reader issue.

Symptoms: the USB port on front panel all-in-one card reader works, but card slots don't. They used to work though, so I suspect a software issue.

Details: Z77X-D3H on F16 BIOS with all the correct USB3 drivers and chipset drivers installed. Device is plugged into a USB3 header. Running W8 pro 64bit

I'm pretty stumped tbh, any ideas on what I can try? I've seen other posts on various forums with the same issue but with no solutions :/

How many additional drives do you have installed?

It could be the drive letters it's trying to assign are already being used!

Possible. I have a fair few (5). But they haven't changed, and it has no problem assigning a letter to a usb drive when I plug that in.

Meh, unplugged the header connection and plugged it back in. Windows recognised it and away I go. Weird.
