Hi
I kinda need a card reader for my pc.

Any recommendations? I need it for SD cards and maybe sony pro duo ones (although don't really need it for that, just be nice).

I'd prefer one that goes in the case rather than another usb cable...

Looking at usb card readers some don't seem to support 2GB cards - the Belkin F5U271UK for example.

Are card readers that have problems with 2GB cards in the majority or would I be unlucky if a noname reader from the bay wouldn't read the card ?

i bought 1 from some crappy budget store in town, its a floppy disk drive with a usb cable inside that allows you to plug cards into slots around the floppy disk socket
And you plug that into a usb slot round the back of your pc do you?

I have internal card reader that fits in the 3.5" bay. It connects to a USB header on the motherboard (the same ones used for front/extra USB ports). Mine reads CF/SD/MMC/SM/XD/MS/MS Pro (plus variants that have an adapter for one of those ports). It has 4 holes for cards and appears as 4 drives in My Computer. It also provides an extra USB port.

I find it really useful, I always have new things that take some sort of memory card. Cost about £20, it's unbranded but it's good quality.

same as the poster above- the usb connector goes into a head on the motherboard except the drive itself has an actual floppy disk reader too, exactly the same they all show up as removeable storage in my computer

I got the Akasa Card Reader, very good imo. Only downside is I have to have a card inserted when I start up my computer otherwise it takes an age to boot.

I've got one of these too. It's a Mitsumi. Works like a charm and you never know when you're gonna wanna play that retro game you've got lying around on floppy.
