Card that supports Dual 2560 display

I'm looking at getting 2 (maybe even 3) Asus PB278Q 27" 2560 displays

What I can't seem to figure out is which video cards support dual or triple displays for 2560 res.

The requirements say you need a HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2, and dual-link DVI

Would the Asus GeForce GTX 760 DirectCUII OC or Asus HD 7970 Matrix Platinum 3072MB GDDR5 be able to support 2 or 3 of these displays?

If not, which ones would?

Yes, both cards would, but you'd 3gb if not 4gb or Vram.

Both cards have dual-link DVI and Displayport (HDMI can't properly do large resolutions yet...), so both can do multiple displays at 2560x1440 (760 up to 4 displays, 7970 up to 6 displays).

How much are you thinking of spending though? The 670 performs slightly better than the 760, and is around 7950 level, while that model of the 7970 seems quite expensive...

Will this be for gaming?

A low level 760 and a tweak (to perfection) 7970..

Both will run monitors fine..

Are you gaming (if so over both monitors?)

And what is your budget?

Primary use is for a development machine so real-estate is pretty important.

Occasional gaming over 1 monitor.

Not really interested in stressing or tweaking clock speeds. Would rather have it just work out of the box.

So, 760 or 7970 then? Would like to keep it all Asus too.



4 display outputs is probably enough

I'll need to boot into linux on occasion too.
I'm wondering who has better native linux drivers these days.
