I have just realised between all the spare PC pieces I have laying around all I need is some ram and a GPU to get a second rig up and running. Basically what GPU would you recommend to run with a 750k that won't be bottlenecked?

Any CPU could be a potential bottleneck. Mate tried their HD7870XT(close to HD7950 level performance) with an X4 760K and it was still OK with many games.

I would say a GTX750TI or R9 265 or R9 270 should be OK.
 
Used HD 78xx or 79xx, or a GTX 6xx or GTX 750ti. If it is just a spare rig you could find one of those cards used for between £40-£80.
