Hi,

I currently have an 8800GTX. Will current NVidia cards for around £150-£200 price range offer any significant improvement over this card?

If so, what would you recommend? I have a brand loyalty towards Nvidia so recommendations from them would be appreciated....

Well i have a 8800gtx and i am going to order a 275 next week. Seems to have a pretty solid 50% + gain on what the 8800 can do.

A 260GTX should give you around 50-60% gain in performance over an 8800GTX tho it depends on the game, resolution and settings you play at. Anything under 1680x res isn't going to gain that much, whereas the more you go above this the more apparent the gains will be.

Make sure you have a half decent CPU aswell.Preferably clocked over 4GHz too see more benefit from the new card.

I would go for the XFX one for value.Decent customer support and good brand.

I got a OcUK value card in the past and it was actually a gainward one.But generally speaking I think there are not big big name brands, possibly something like inno 3d or PNY maybe.

Well I game great at 1600 x 1200 with my 8800GT and don't feel the need to upgrade yet.

Sure you need to upgrade?

I'm waiting for the DX11 cards personally. If current games started to struggle with all the eye candy at my current rez, I'd reconsider, but they don't!

The Gainward ones with the uprated cooling (dual fan) seem to be well recieved (aside from a minor bug with some where it stays in 3D clocks when idle - not sure if that effects all models or just a specific batch) - theres a 1792Mb model for under £200 which would give a little bit more future proofing for an extra £20, although that might not be so useful if you plan on playing at 1680x for the immediate future.
