Wondering what card to buy that could replace my ATI 2900 XT so that I notice a difference in the latest titles. I see the OCuk 8800 GTX is on offer this week - is it a good card?

It is about as good as any other 8800GTX, they generally only differ in the prices, the bundles and the warranties. You could also look into the new 512mb 8800GTS cards but you may need to overclock a bit to get the best out of them. :)

GTX is an absolutely fantastic card. I ordered one, and realised it wont fit my case!!!!! Absolutely gutted. Anyways, returned it (thanks OcUK) and ordering a new 8800 GTS.

Ive had my HD2900 XT since launch, and it aint a bad card. Without AA, its as good as anything, but one you start increasing the quality, it all goes a bit pear shaped. Im selling mine on an online auction site, and TBH I dont think Id get more than £130 for it - it will be a great buy for someone if they can crossfire it, in which case it really does shine.

I would definetly recommend either the OcUK 8800 GTX at it's currently price of a GTS 512MB if you can get it cheap enough (£200 ish ideally). I recently moved from a 2900XT 512 to a 8800GTS 512MB and the difference is brilliant, overall very happy with the switch.
