Hi Guys

I currently have an R9 390 with an old i5 4670K
Having just purchased a 1440 screen just wondering about an AMD card upgrade, can you see anything worthwhile to change to or will the newer cards bottleneck with the old CPU.

Cheers

depends on the game really but my 4790k4.7ghz does fairly well with my vega 64 and this is at 1080p (while i wait for my new 1440p monitor to arrive). Im fairly sure a 56 will give you some very good gains for the price paid. Arn't there some offer on the vega 56 right now by @Gibbo ?

you may want to bump the clocks a bit if you go 56, even if you aimed for like 4.2/4.4. a stock i5 more than likely will bottleneck a 56 depending on the game.

I concur with what's been said, a Vega 56 will give a hefty boost at 1440p but a mild overclock will be easy to achieve and allow it to stretch it's legs a bit more.
