At the weekend I put my beloved CR-V up for sale on the AutoTrader website (3 weeks +2 weeks in the Mag!!)... I did a full vallet first then took a bundle of piccies!... then had a mope cos I've got to say godby to my baby!.. :(

Monday 8:45am Phonecall - Cardata... "Allrite Mate..."Which put me right of to start with "You still got that honda for sale?!?"... "Yes"... "Well My name's ******* from Cardata..." Blah Blah Blah... "Can I stop you!... I've heard of companies like yours from watchdog!..." When I said that, They hung up on me quite abruptly!

Monday 8:30pm Phonecall - Vehicle Match (the ones in the watchdog report!)... Same outcome!...

Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday (twice) and Today (Three times)... Same thing!... All from different (supposedly) companies!... all with Similar phone numbers, and quite rude staff!...

Anyone else had this sort of thing!?!... or even used any of these people!?!...

How do you stop em!?!...

Is it worth adding NO CANVESERS/TIME WASTERS to the end of my web advert?...

Its getting quite annoying now!... I want a real Purchaser not some company who'll take £80(min) off me to 'Advertise till sold' and then never send anyone round to even look and my car!...

I've had several calls from 01592777800 since I put my ad in last week. They ask me if I want a magazine etc, and when I say no they are rund and hang up.

unfortunatly its one of the things that comes with selling a car :( I just ask them to remove me from their system and never call me again.

A mate got so fed up of the same place calling over and over again he started playing with them. Telling them about different cars he had up for sale, getting adverts for all of them sorted then hung up and denied any knowledge when they phoned back :) put them on hold (cd player + wandering off) telling them they had the wrong number, answering as one of the other companys etc etc... yet they still rang
 
I noticed their number was very similar no matter what phone in their office they called from.

So, I stopped answering the phone and a couple of days later they gave up.

Definately add the "No canvassers/timewasters" then you can just refer them to your advert. :)

They are a pain. They say people are interested in your car, but its just people they emailed it to who arent at all interested because they have been pursuaded to receive emails.

Its a scam as far as I care, I hate Cardata with a passion.
 
Ask who it is before you talk to them.
You just gotta get tough with these mofos.
 
I just get loads of nigerian esque scams via email with mine.
I just email back "Does anybody really ever fall for you bull ****?".
Not had a response so far.

Thats why I left my email address of the advert!... I've changed it twice in the last year because of spam!... didn't want any more!.

I'll have to try a few of Siliconslave's remedys...

Just had another one!... Can't these ******* leave me ALONE!!.. :mad:
