Cardboard *** yo!

Is it me or is there actually NO POINT WHATSOEVER doing this? The actual working parts of the PC cant be recycled any easier this way, so why not use a proper case?!

Stupid idea.

I think this is a really good idea. Just thinking of the number of times I've binned a big metal case over the years.

Case is cheap to build and easy to recycle, what's the problem?

The problem would be the fact you still need to get rid of the components! And if your doing that why not buy a proper case?!

You mean easy to burn down?
Good normal case (not bling-bling trash) is surely the most easily recycleable part of PC. (and can overlast other components by magnitude)

Also ever heard about EMC requirements?
I'm sure they wouldn't even waste time in testing that because it's 110% sure that it fails those tests.
So even if it wouldn't be total safety failure it would fail also in other requirements:

Heh I like it.

Apart from the article

Part of the re-usability factor of the Recompute is that it can use bits and pieces from existing systems - for example, the keyboard from an existing computer.

So thats just the same as EVERY PC EVER then.

Supprised no-one's mentionned the fire risk yet...

A hulking metal case stands a little less chance of catching fire - and besides, it's just as easy to recycle scrap metal these days as it is to recycle cardboard...

I think it looks sweet though :D

What if you spill coke on it, it's going to soak through and damage the case, you'd have to get a new case when it got dirty.

Then dont put open cans of coke on your case! Same for any case, at least this one might absorb it before it splashes around the insides :D

and people worried about spilling their drinks on an antec skeleton!
i would sooner have a cardboard case than an acer predator...
