Cardiff Bay - Worth a visit?

May have the chance to go...do i want to? Never been to Wales before.
Google says it is quite nice..a bit like Portsmouth?

I went last week with a friend as a impromptu visit to wales as she had it booked anyway.

Was quite nice down there, few pubs/bars and restaurants to pick at.. nice views and atmosphere I found. The city centre is also amazing for shopping and a strip of more bars/things to do.

How long would you be going for?

Cardiff is actually surprisingly nice. Plus as TRG says city centre is pretty decent for shopping as you have St David's and Capitol Shopping both of which a big. Nice strip of bars/restaurants near Cardiff Central station as well. Cardiff Castle is worth a look as well if you come into city centre

Cardiff is a great place.

Avoid Newport, it's a dump. Avoid Swansea too, it's like Newport with a grant :p

Cardiff is great. On a nice day I would recommend walking over Cardiff Bay Barrage to Penarth as it's a good walk with plenty of things to see, drink and eat (you go past the Doctor Who Experience)!

Cardiff Council seem to think it is. Saw a sign the other week informing visitors that they hosted the NATO summit at Celtic Manor in Cardiff. Had to snigger at that one. Sure it was in St David's

Yep, Obama and David C was in town, in the Celtic Manor, which if none of you have been is a lovely resort, in a **** place called Newport :p, Celtic Manor itself though its brilliant, worth a stay, they also held the Ryder cup there.

Cardiff Bay is nice, if I ever get a boat, speedboat, thats where it will be moored one day :p, loads of nice resturants, bars, pubs, things to do.
