Looking for something to give my old PC a graphics boost on the cheap. I have a PC I built around 2008 / 2009 with an Abit ip35pro motherboard and a nvidia 8800GT. Pretty standard setup at the time.

I'm well aware of bottlenecks that might happen but can I stick a card in there from say 2011 on the cheap to get a nice graphics boost?

Anyone got anything they can recommend. Not bothered about playing the latest and greatest games just want things like sniper elite v2 and borderlands 2 to run a little smoother.
 
Depending on what Cpu....if the t is Core2duo, then don't bother upgrading.

Also without new bios the chances are the board won't be compatible with the modern cards as well.
