Cards Fragged??

hey guys,

i have to x850's both of which i think are fried

the crossfire master card isnt giving me a display but i need to test that on another motherboard

the other x850, which is an Platinum edition is giving me a screen but 70-90% of the screen is covered by white lines as soon as i turn pc on.

I also have zalman fans on them so im quessing RMA is out of the question.

Please advise guys,

What power supply are you using?

Were they working fine before?

Sound like video memory issues. At turn on does the bios post also have the lines?

using a hiper type r 580w, cards where working 100% yesterday today, boom nothing. white lines appear at start of post, in biosm xp load she wont go into windows but i think that might be because the cards are locking up

Either psu borked or more likely a voltage spike nailed the mem on the cards. Can u claim from insurance?

yea i was thinking psu, the added strees of the wc in kandalf lcs may have shot it. id prefer not to claim of insurance

Well, Completely remove one of the cards and try them in turn.
If you want to RMA them just put the standard coolers on.

Ok. Well try another PSU.
If you RMA the cards they send you a replacement.

yea, gonna get a 700 or 800w. last i heard the x850 was obselete, they guy (here) got an x1800 i think, problem is, i got the XT from a competitor who has went bust and the crossfire at another company which is still going

got a new tagan 800w psu and cards still not working on there own. any suggestions for a mediocore card to get me into new year or atleast r600??

you can rma direct to manufacturer mate, spesh if the original supplier has gone bust,

can often be easier to rma direct too.

i never registered my cards with sapphire and i have put on after market coolers, i no if i put original coolers back on everything is ok but since the cards are not registered is an rma still availiable? also whats sapphires RMA service like??

From what ive read on the Sapphire forums the RMA Is doggy doo doo on my shoe shoe ,


You have to PAY to send the card back, and then wait weeks for replacements.
