So I'm in a situation where I don't know what I want to do let alone where to start looking.
My back ground is electronic repair, spent just over 10 years doing component level test and repair, end of 2008 I was made redundant, I got very lucky and managed to get a position in post design support, I have been given training courses in telecomms, learnt UNIX and solaris.
My problem is, with only 14 months experience in this type of work will I be able to find anything? I don't know where to look, I would really need more training if I was to continue in this line of work.
As you can probably tell I'm very confused.
My best hope is if I can secure another position that has come up here and avoid redundancy, though the competition is high, other people from my department have applied and they have way more experience, thought I am young and my wages are much less than these guys.
My back-up plan is to train in something else and change direction a little, but where? Aim for third line IT support? What courses should I look at?
Thanks to anyone that reads this and adds some input, sorry for going on, I feel quite depressed at the moment.
P.S I finish my current position on the 10th of March.
