So im looking for my first IT job, finished zenos it academy about 4 months ago now, had not much luck finding a job, ive been unlucky at interviews as they either picked someone with experience, and in one case someone from a different zenos it academy (grrr). anywho, noticed adverts for ICT systems support with the RAF and im guessing ICT is needed else too within the forces. im 16, got the qualifications but no experience, do you think its something i should look into ?

(i have bt and o2 apprenticeships still on going and there taking ages but if i get that it will start in september/october time).

Wow I didnt realise this thread was still going...though i am still thinking about joining the forces one day.

Currently got a job part time in a small computer repair shop and i have to look after the shop when engineers go to call outs and get repairs done in the shop. Boss said once im trained i will go full time and get more pay and be doing more stuff so i guess ill wait and see.

Wow, thread is still going :p

Going down to my nearest base (waiting on details) to have a talk to someone in the RAF about IT roles and what would be best etc, at the moment im on a 3 month contract with a company so i am just seeing if joining the RAF is something i can look into after my contract. To get an overview of things.

Anyway, looks like everyone else above is doing alright so far ;)

So i got back from a brief but very informative with a RAF carrers chap a few days ago. I must say i am intrigued. Just one thing i just thought about reading the above posts and the job description (raf guy didnt go into to much detail but said that i would be fully trained/qualified in it) what exactly happens at Radio training (?). I mean is it something that is simple to comprehend or rather complicated?

Not saying that i am stupid :o just interested at the moment.
