Careers advice organisations - Which one/is there a recommended one?

I'm not aware of any specific careers advice services - you might well find useful info though on selected careers on industry specific forums though (depending on the industry/career). Likewise there are various industry related sites around if you were looking to apply for jobs at companies that might not necessarily be household names - if it is a career change you're after then that could be useful as you're unlikely to know about the various small and mid sized firms in any particular industry you've not worked in before.

For general career guidance the only one I'm aware of is this one that provided guidance for independent schools - though they can make their tests available for individuals... it seemed pretty decent at the time though I'm not sure now re: the background of the tests and I am a bit skeptical about some of this stuff:

Though looking at the pricing they're not trying to rip you off. I mean the above is advice in terms of suggesting general careers etc.. for you - you're not likely going to get some career advisor bod actually knowing much in depth about a particular career they likely have zero experience of since they're employed as a careers advisor.
