For a while now I've often wondered what this phenomenon is.

I get a bonus at work, the car decides it needs new calipers.

I get a new job, car decides to want something else.

When I have any kind of disposable income to treat myself with, the car ends up taking it.

After replacing the window regulator today and having to call up my ins as I also have a lovely big crack in the windscreen I've come to the conclusion this is carma.

Now how many others have suffered from this, I bet loads :)

No, Karma is the what goes around comes around lark, i.e. you do something bad, bad things happen, something good, good things happen.

This is CARma, something good happens or is about to, then the car decides to steal all the money.

(see it's a clever play on words, some might say "a pun" :) )

*edit* CARma doesn't apply if you stole the money for your mods from a small child or the like.

My car breaks even when crap stuff happens.

Fall down a flight of stairs - gearbox dies.

Break my leg - PAS pump breaks.

Get hit ny a bus - car spontaneously errupts into flames.

I had a lot of CARma when building my Kit Car...

Talk about money eater... whatever budget i set it went up every time we completed another stage...

Hey ho, once it warms up here, all will be forgiven, but summat is bound to drop off and its bound to be expensive to fix

;)

lol, i also have a clio 16v and before i got it i never believed all of these people saying so much can go wrong on them. i now do. :(

I agree

Sam fix's car £200 spent , then told the tensioner is gone

Sam fix's car £200 spent , then told the water pump is on its way out

etc etc ;) :P

Since I've had my car its had rear discs and pads, front pads, rear suspension bushes, anti-roll bar links, gearbox oil, two services, a wheel bearing, a wheel arch liner and a drivers side mirror casing.

Oh and a set of Eagle F1's because I got a puncture and the tyres were pap.

I've had the wheel arch liner, and the wheel bearing go at times of maximum skintness (I'm not getting too much work at the minute).

Cars can just be money pits...when you think you have things sorted something crops up.

I agree. I come into some wealth, I umm and arr about a new PC part or some other waste of money and as soon as I wanna hit the order button I bail out. Then that day the car falls to bits, flashes warning lights, veers across the road at expensive garage owners trying to suck my cash away before I can think about spending it again.

Now I just put tape over all the pretty blinking lights. What you don't know can't hurt you, eh? Stupid plastic french car....

Now everyone will be making lists of all the bad things they've ever done and then setting off on a quest to undo them to save garage bills.

I'd love to go on a Karma Roadtrip, I always did wonder what my wake of havoc has done to effect other peoples lives. Mini-me's... oh dear god no!

Yes you are right, i got a 2k bonus at christmas, which i have been keeping for a nice plasma, but the ST24 has been slowly chipping away at this, what galls me even more s that im only keeping the car for another 12 weeks max as my new st3 will be here then.

I spent £100 this week alone on plugs, leads, gaskets and cleaning stuff for the intakes, old cars are just a money pit, mind i should get most of my horses back by the end of today!
