Does anyone here remember the original Carmageddon game branded as 'The Racing Game for the Chemically Imbalanced' that came out many years ago?

Well now they're getting ready to release Carmageddon: Max Damage for PS4, XBOX ONE & PC!

The game is a continuation from their previous release, Carmageddon: Reincarnation which had pretty bad reviews on STEAM, which was based on things such as poor performance & online net-code.

The problem with these negative reviews, of course was that the game was originally released while still in beta and many of the bad reviews had been posted before they managed to release a couple of updates which fixed performance issues as well as adding more vehicles etc..

I am very hyped for this game and especially because those who have already puchased Carmageddon: Reincarnation on STEAM will get a free update to the new game when it hits the shelves!

I dunno, maybe some games are best left in the past?

Imagine they made a new Duke Nukem game that was identical to the DN3D but with better graphics? oh wait...

Just thought I would give this a bump its been released and is on £13.39 special at the moment and I have been reading the Steam Reviews and its getting a good reception. Some saying its what Reincarnation should have been and is as good as the original.
Wondering whether its worth a punt whilst its on offer.

Huge, huge fan of the original. Had a go last night on this latest version and it brought back so many memories. I remember playing it once with 2 of my cousins watching. Managed to get some huge air on the first race. After flying through the air for what seemed a good minute at least, we came down straight on top of poor Vlad in his drag racer and wrecked him. We all went absolutely mental and watched the replay of it for days!

Someone needs to mod in the old face camera!

I don't really have the desire to get this but played the original games. What would potentially interest me is seeing the game created in the Wreckfest engine (think it was renamed to the next car game or something before it was canned?)

This Carma game already has an amazing damage engine. You can destroy the car in incredible detail, right down to splitting it in half by any axis. The physics is done by same people as in Carma 2.

I was a kickstarter backer of Carmageddon: Reincarnation and after the reviews of the game I didn't even ask why I hadn't got my code for the game when it released.

Its badly built unfortunately, it was one of the games that was great back in the day in a net café with some friends but not now.

Its still going.

5 hours left at £13 so decided to buy it. Downloading now will play it this afternoon.

Bit of a thread necro, but if anyone is still interested, you can now buy this game for £3.74 on Steam, which includes the Max Pack (Carma 1 + Splat Pack).

I had a wave of nostalgia earlier after watching some Carma 1 videos - was going to do some research and see if I could find a copy to play on Windows 10, stumbled across the Carma: Max Damage as being the latest in the series. Lacklustre reviews, but for four quid including the original game (which is what I was after anyway), I thought it would be worth a punt. It's still downloading, but in the meantime, the Max Pack downloaded, so I've been playing that in the meantime. Just a heads up if anyone wants to relive their youth a little :D

Deffo worth it at that price, I'm hoping Mad Mike has more mods out soon, he has quite a few vehicles done already.

I still need to unlock the police vehicles, they are tough.

Just played a race of Max Damage. Pretty good fun tbh. Not groundbreaking but for a few quid, a good game to lean back with a gamepad and while away an hour or so :)
