Carnt get windows to find wireless network

Hey all, got an advent 7108 laptop, with built in wireless, trying to connect it to a Netgear DG834G, just simply wont find the wireless network, when 2 other laptops find it easily and connect, any ideas? Just using the built in windows software, carnt seem to find any software specifically for the wireless thing in the advent 7108 laptop

I've had problems getting my advent to connect the my wireless network - Have you got any security enabled on the netgear? If so, switch it off. Also make sure that the SSID is set to broadcast. Once you have got the Advent to detect the network you can secure it again.

I had a similar problem with my HP laptop.

fixed the problem with a new driver from windows update then a reboot

most the time that causes this is to do with having 3rd party software on from the stupid manufactures. They should have kept away from making a 3rd party application instead of using the Microsoft one.

i had the same problem with my girlfriends new advent laptop last week. Next to the power button was a button to switch on the wireless. I felt a bit of a noob when i finally got it working

yeh could be that too, make sure the wireless part is acctually active.
