Well that's it then, might as well just stop broadcasting Countdown altogether.

Wouldn't surprise me. I don't think it's disingenuous to have referred to the show as the Richard and Carol show, and I don't think they could ever recreate that chemistry between the presenters.

As much as I'll miss my occasional attempts to solve the maths puzzles, it's probably time to move on.

Good memories of watching Countdown with my grandad as a kid, he was uber clever and would always solve the puzzles, back when it was Richard and Carrol. I'll be a bit sad to see it go (if it does) even though I never bother with it these days purely because it reminds me of him
