carpet seam instead of door bar?

Anyone here have experience of using a seam instead of a door bar? What's it like wear n tear wise?

Depends on the foot traffic for those rooms.
Doorbars provide a boundary to a room. With a seam it would presumably be held down with double sided tape. And the seam depends on carpet quality and pile direction.

Door bar is better IMO.
