Hi,
When ut comes to carpets, what is the 'best' type to get please. I notice you can get 100% wool / other synthetic types. I have dogs if that makes any difference.

Having dogs isnt really a problem, even with long pile carpets, you can get vacuum cleaners these days that have powered brush heads that can get the hair out pretty easily.

And theres no real 'best' to get. Where are you going to lay it? Does that area have much foot trafic through it? Or any abnormal wear like a table being dragged across it on a regular occasion?

Stuff like that will determine what carpet you want to get. Cut pile (long or short) generaly feels the best, loop pile it the hardest wearing but doesnt look/feel as good. And then you have cotton and synthetic carpets.

Sythetic carpets ALWAYS look synthetic (read: cheap), and then when they wear they look even worse, shiney and bobbled and cheap.

Got for wool if possible, it wears hard and looks great for longer. If the carpet is going in your lounge, you want a deep cut pile, where-as in front of your main door or on a landing you want a harder wearing loop pile, possibly mixed with synthetics.

Oh as good as the above advice is don't overlook the obvious, make sure it's the same colour as your dog then sell the hoover, hey presto, self regenerating carpet.
