I'm sure that BT will be feeling a squeeze from Talk Talk and Sky in the future and so these sorts of products may actually encourage them to get on with it because they sure aren't going give up!

BT might very well be feeling a squeeze, but given there's a huge chunk of the population who have no option of either the TalkTalk deal, Sky/Easynet, or any of the other LLU providers, and Ofcom are constantly breathing down BT's throat to ensure "competition", there's not a huge amount of encouragement.
Doubt bandwidth-intensive applications are going to be particularly popular with the LLU providers either. Bandwidth costs money (even if it isn't the silly prices of BT Centrals).

Had a quick look at this myself and it's a worthy deal.

At home we have:
BT BB Option 3 @ £26pm (20gb - though we probably come closer to 30gb-40gb usage)
BT Option 2 @ £17.50pm (Local + Weekend free calls)
BT Line Rental @ £11pm
Sky Sub @ £36pm (+ 2 additional Multirooms @ 10pm each)
Sky Multiroom Sub's @ £20pm

£74.50pm on Telephone, BB and Digital TV (not including call costs - although there are no free calls to North Cyprus instead my father uses lowcall provider numbers ranging from 1p to 9p per minute).

Sky are going to be the ones to watch in the future.

well 40 gig isnt enough when you start to use voip i get free calls in the uk and europe and other destinations, plus i also have a free voip number.
i pay 32 a month for phone line and my 24 meg dsl and 1.5 meg up. but yes £21 for both will kill of the market and we will see a few isp disappear.
i used to use 18866.co.uk 4 pence connection only you dont pay for the call and saynoto0780 for my 0870 and 0845 numbers.

Is it really an 18 month contract? If theres a way to avoid this i might be tempted. Currently in the market for a new ISP but dont want to be held down too much by contracts.

the main issue for me is the price of the landline, if you have dsl some of the money that you pay for dsl goes towards bts landline. So thats how talktalk can lower its rates cuz they may have negotiated a price on the line rental from bt and can lower its dsl rates.

No way of getting around it afaik.

inevitably if they get so many sign ups the service will suffer...the 'mass market' broadband suppliers such as tiscali always seem to get slated so why should this be any different?

hopefully the quality providers will ride the wave (seeing as I love Nildram and have no intention of swapping) and continue to provide a good product, and excellent service
