Carton of Soup - Best Before

We have those cartons of soup in the cupboard, the ones that don't live in the fridge like the UK ones. Live on the shelves in the shops and that.
Well, my car has a burst coolant hose and my wife is at work and is going shopping tonight as we have **** all in. I thought **** it, I'll have some soup. I checked and the carton is 3yrs out of date lol but will it kill me? It's mushroom soup, I can't think of anything that would kill me so sod it, I'm eating it anyway.

Q: Will I die?

I often don't rely on best befores, more my smell, but 3yrs is going some

Best Before not Use By so should be safe (but possibly not as nice).

It probably has more fungus in it than mushrooms now. Soup is fairly cheap. Just bin it or give it to a homeless person.

Been licking toads since yesterday lunch! All seems fine, no anal explosions out of the ordinary tbh! So, you can eat 3yr out of date soup!
