Recently built a pc, 8350 and a m5a78l-m/usb3 motherboard. Little did I know the lack of vrm and power phases on the motherboard is causing huge throttling past 52 degrees. To the point where my cpu frequencies stay at 1.4ghz for around 5 seconds (fps drops to 20ish)

So I need a new atx case and motherboard, budget would be 100-120.

Any advice/help would be great.

Thank you!

Well plenty of people will say that Gigabyte customer service is superior and I think they would be correct.

With these 9 series chipset boards you are looking for a good phase count and importantly VRM cooling (those little heatsinks around the CPU socket).

The Gigabyte has 8+2 phases.

The Asus has 6+2

Okay so I'm guessing for the 8350 the gigabyte is superior. Time to sell my brand new bitfenix prodigy case haha.

Thanks a lot for the help, I appreciate it!

No problem.

Many people have fallen into this trap, there are no good mATX/itx boards for FX CPU's, they basically all suck.

I have a 760, but getting 2 would be pointless as I could just get a single 780TI in a few months, in which case what 970 board, and what kickass case? sorry for all the questions, I just want it to be perfect!

Well the same 970 boards as earlier, but with a nicer case such as,
