hey all, so ive finally started my build. ive bought an asus sabertooth p67 board off a mate, as well as a radeon hd 4870 and 4gb dominators for £150. ive now got 250 thanks to a bit of profiteering on some old stuff i had. i need to get a good case, power supply, new optical drive and processor with that. the processor im obviously looking at is the 2500k. so really, ive got around 100 for the rest. im looking at spending around 85-90 on the case and psu and 10-15 on the dvd rw drive. what cases and power supplies can you recommend me getting with 85-90?
so far ive found the bitfenix shinobi and the antec 300. id prefer it to be a silent case, i like these silent cases. id also be happy purchasing a second hand case, so if theres a case thats around 100, i would look around, but if theres a case within my budget new, id get it here.
thanks
stephen

for the both :)
im not looking for anything mega, just something that has decent cable management, looks decent, gets decent temps, and is quite to be honest. and i dont mind buying a second hand case as mentioned, so if the case is say 80 new but can be bought for 50 on ebay and is far superior to anything new, id do that too, but if the best i can get is something new and in budget, id get that. thanks!

which of these 4 would you reckon is the best for being quite whilst keeping good temps?
antec 300, bitfenix shinobi, CM silencio or cm 690 2 advanced (the latter being as new, same price as the other 3 are new)?
thanks man,

Well, out of those I've only ever had the Silencio, so I can't really comment on the others.

But the Silencio is a damn good case, and much quieter than another CM case I had in the past. Temps were decent too.

after reading some reviews on it, apparantly its not so hot on keeping the case cool, it sacrifices some of the cooling for keeping it quite, ill keep looking, as id rather have something that keeps lower temps than something that is slightly quiter. ty by the way

Yeah the temps were pretty decent considering how sound-proof it was, but other cases can do better, I had plenty of fans going so my temps weren't too bad.

Its hard to find a balance between low noise and low temps.

i know right?! i suppose i could sling in a couple of fans. im looking at the cm 690 2 advanced, and some lian li's. are they any good? lian li?
oh, on a side note, are full cases better for cooling than midi cases? cheers
