Hello i am trying to start to build a new desktop PC for gaming and have never built a PC before although i know the main components. I was just wondering if there are specific cases for different types of components such as if i bought a case would it be compatible with any mixture of hardware.

Thanks in advance

I would guess that most cases are designed to take everything needed for a pc.
So the question then becomes how much do you want to install into it. What motherboard size you have, how many HDD and optical drives. The only thing left after that is if you intend to air or water cool.
I found YouTube great for case reviews and the

For ideas on what's possible and what can be fitted into a case.

Some cases won't accommodate large graphics cards, and some limit your choice of motherboard. Most however support atx motherboards, and most support most graphics cards. Some CPU coolers are also too big for some cases.

It might be worth double checking though.

There are issues, but they're not particularly comment.
