Far far away....
After plenty of messing around to find out why my idle temperature was 40'c + it turns out that there is a very obvious issue when the side is on my case.

Currently with the side of Speedfan is reporting the CPU temp at 28'c and both Core 0 and Core 1 at 32'c.

If I put the side back on the temperature increases to 40'c+ within 5 minutes.

I have the Antec P182 case with a Noctua UF120 heatsink/fan.

The two fans in the roof and rear of the case are pulling air out, increasing the speed of these fans only drops the temperature by 1 or 2 degrees.

The fan on the Noctua is at the bottom of the heatsink, blowing through the fins towards the roof fan in the case.

I only have two HDD's in the case and these are at the very bottom.

What can I do to address the temperature increase with the side on the case?

Do you not have any intake fans? I believe that a positive pressure (more air being blown in that sucked out) helps with airflow rather than negative (more air being sucked out through exhaust fans).
