Hi peeps,

After quite abit of hassle (4x 780i boards) i managed to get myself a working PC!

I will at some point be re-thermalpasting the motherboard cooling (most likely lapping it too) as the temps can reach 70c. But being a 780i board i guess thats nothing out of the usual.

My question is tho...Other than what you can see i have already done to help the air flow in the case... (Side intake on Zalman bracket, moved graphics card down a slot, MANY fans) How can i improve it? (Watercooling is out of the question atm)

Specs:
Coolermaster Cosmos S
Q6600 @ 3.6GHz w/ Coolermaster V8
Coolermaster Realpower M1000 1kw
Striker II Formula 780i (To get another GTX 280)
4GB Crucial RED Tracer
Zotac GTX 280 AMP!
Asus Xonar D2
3x WD5000AAKS 500GB
1x Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB

Fans and layout:

Xilence RED LED 120mm Fans 68CFM @ 21.2dB(A)

2x Intake Front (Xilence 120mm)
1x Intake Bottom (Xilence 120mm)
1x Intake Side on Zalman bracket (Xilence 120mm)
3x Exhaust Top (Xilence 120mm)
1x Exhaust Rear (Xilence 120mm)
1x CPU Fan blowing towards the rear (Xilence 120mm)

1x OCZ XTC RAM Cooler (Blows directly down onto RAM)

looking very nice :)...

I have the same xilence fans as you, was it easy to setup the fan controller with them??

edit: how did you extend the default wiring?

Yeah works great with my Zalman fan controllers, no probs at all. Just plug the 3pins into the Zalman provided extensions and all is well, just a pain in the arse the fans also have a molex on them.

Not sure if the above answered the wiring question, if not what do you mean extending the default wiring?! :S

What's the noise level like on those Xilence fans? Been looking at getting a few of those red ones myself.

And what's that blue thing on top?? :)

Tbh from the looks of that your only option left is WC.

Well its rated at 21.2dB(A) but im not sure if they are exactly that, being i have 9 in total in the case its fairly loud. But one on its own is whisper quiet, infact it contends with my old noctua's!

Good thing is with the Xilence is that they push almost as much airflow as the ACRyan Blackfire4's but are quieter (And come in proper colours w/o UV crappy LED's)

IMO get some :) You wont be disappointed, just remember that the molex isnt removable from the fan tho.

The blue thing on top looks like the Asus LCD Poster that you get with higher end Asus boards. It will show you any errors while booting on the screen, or just the date/time when the system is running.

Bingo! :D

There is also a way to get it to display Temps aswell...Some reason tho i cant find out how to.

Found here:
Youtubey Goodness!! CLICKY!!

Cant work out for the life of me how he does that tho. Also gonna change that LCD poster to RED LED's.

Cheers for the info, do they not come with a 3 pin connector for the mobo then, or just a four pin molex?
