Case Cutting help

Entirely WaterChill stuff; hopefully it getting it all fairly cheap off a friend.

- WaterChill Antarctica CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/LGA775)
- WaterChill VGA Cooler
- WaterChill Chipset Cooler
- Dual Black Ice Pro 120mm radiator
- 4x 120mm low noise Adda fan
- WaterChill Xtreme 12V integrated pump/reservoir

It's just like the Extreme Kit that OCUK have but it was put together seperately over a longer period, if you get my point.

hi my radiator is top mounted and was done with a jigsaw, and filed witha finger saw to make edges smooth... you can see how to doit from the pic to hope it helps

It would make little difference, as the same air is being moved, and in a case like the wavemaster the airflow through the case will not hamper the rad.

Intake, Exhaust.

They have holes on either side, and are designed to do both.

Makes little if any difference in the real world.

(Although some people may notice a change)

you want to draw air into your case, from the outside, therefore pulling cool air thru the radiator hense why my fans are internal... rather than pulling hot air thru the radiator from inside the case

I dont understand your thinking there at all, you want to get the hot air away from your case and replace it with cool air.

thats why u would have the fans on the radiator directly exhausting the hot air to the outside, whilst have case fans drawing cool air in from underneath in the main body of the chassis????

The cooling system IS the water, all the heat is on the radiator, the air outside the case is cooler, so bringing that over the RAD gives lower temperatures.

That is why, water and air cooling are not similar in how cases utilise them.

I know for a fact my v1000+ is a different beast without the CPU heat going to the case.

exactly!! we are cooling water here not cooling the air inside.

It depends in my opinion. e.g. if you are just watercooling the CPU then by pulling air into the case and heating it up by pasing it over the rad you are going to make the GFX cooler work harder.

Basically, if you are going to pull air in then make sure you have as many fans pulling air in as exhausting air out.
