Howdy,
I plan on attacking my reasonably expensive case this weekend with a Dremel to add some personal mods to it

Is there a better way of literally just going bat**** on it? Would it be prudent to mask up areas?

I'll mostly be using it on plastic bits, but any tips would be appreciated.

Cheers :)

(Expect to see another thread late tomorrow asking for case recommendations!!!!!) :p

Mask up all the areas you intend to cut, you'll be happy you took the time to do it! But that's pretty much the only precaution I take, other than obviously the bog standard safety stuff like goggles. I recently had a blade snap on me and it was a hair raising experience to say the least. Just go slow, keep a steady hand and you'll be fine! Finish off the edge with a file or bit of fine sand paper :)

Exactly this, safety goggles/glasses and just mask the areas you plan to cut. Had a few blades snap on me also and at the time it is terrifying however worst experience of it was a jacket I was wearing getting torn and a small cut on my arm. You see why the goggles/glasses are so important.

But you forgot the most important thing OP!, what do you plan to do rather curious more than anything else. Loved hacking my 350d apart ready to fix a ATX board and extra PCI-e slots. Really makes you feel you own it when you've modded the **** out of it. :D
