Case fan connection question

Just in the middle of my first build.

Quick question....Is there any advantage connecting the case fans direct to the PSU via the supplied 4pin molex thingy rather than direct into the mobo using the 3pin?

It's just I'd save time and money as I don't have convertors to plug into PSU using the 4pin molex doo dah

Using a Asrock Z68 extreme 4 Gen3 mobo in case that makes a difference?

None whatsoever. The motherboard headers will work fine.

Nope wont make no difference as said, but I think you can control the case fans with speed fan if there plugged in to the mobo.

You can also use fan splitters (2 per header) if you run out of headers, provided that your fans aren't ultra high speed ones.

Depending on your mobo you may did some allow speed reduction and some don't. You may even find that one header may only give 5v, or maybe that's just Gigabyte being retarded.
