Hey quick question anyone know if i can use metal primer as a plastic primer? or shall it be fine without a primer aslong as i sand the surface? or does plastic primer really make that much more of a difference ?

yea tried today with an old fan seems i could get away with not using a primer but hey if i'm doing everything else properly then i might as well do this fan properly :P

1/ Sand down the fan with 400grit wet & dry take off as much dust as pos you can use hot soapy water and then let it dry for a few hour`s.

2/ Plastic primer (white) show`s off the top coat better than grey,do light coat`s dont try and cover the fan in one go as you will get run`s and will need to start over again,2 coat`s of primer 15 mins between will do the job.

3/ Leave to dry overnite then sand down again, repeat step one.

4/ Top coat same as primer 2 to 3 light coat`s give about 15 mins between coat`s hold can about 30 cm away from fan.

Hehe yea don't worry man know how to spray stuff was more just a general plastic question as only really sprayed metal (havent done plastic in a while :P ). So thought i might be able to get away with a metal primer or no primer at all on plastic.

So to add to clone's guide done some pictures of a rubbish fan i destroyed to practice on to try different paints. Will edit my top log with some pic's to make it easier for new ppl to find out how to do it (ha lol gonna steal ur quote cloan :P).
