I've been contemplating getting a new case for my Aorus Z370 Gaming 5 motherboard. The one I've been most interested in is the Cooler Master H500p mesh white

which is roughly the same size as my aging Cooler Master Haf 922, but also I've been thinking of getting some RGB fans for my existing case but not 100% sure about the connection terminals.

So OCUK sell this 200mm RGB fan which I would get 3 of

One front, one side and one top, but looking at the description the fan has a 3 pin connector but my motherboard has the following connectors...

Fans
  • 8x 4-pin Fan Header
Misc
  • 2x Digital LED Strip Header
  • 2x RGB Header
  • 1x TPM Header
My plan is to use these fans with RGB Fusion to match my Aorus motherboard and GFX card.
So basically could I plug in the 3 pin fans to my motherboards 4 pin system fan headers and still use RGB fusion?

It's fine to plug in a 3 pin fan into a 4 pin header, the fourth pin is for PWM. The fans have separate RGB connectors that go into your motherboard.

Thanks for that.
I managed to get some Thermaltake ARGB sync fans running off my Aorus motherboard and I'm pretty impressed.
The RGB Fusion 2 software surprisingly has quite a few options and syncs nicely with the motherboard lighting.
Just a few mods left to do now to accommodate all the fans then at some point there will be paint involved!
