Hello

I have recently built a gaming PC and im not sure what I need to do with controlling the temps.

In MSI bios I have the CPU fan and 4 case fans that I can control with fan curves. The CPU fan already has a fan curve and has smart fan mode enabled, so think I will leave that. The case fans don't have any fan curve, so presume they are just running at a set speed whatever the temp.

In my case I have 3 intake fans at the front and 1 fan at the rear.

I don't want to have install more software if I can set something in the bios, but Im not sure where or how I should set the fan curves so they spin slower/faster based on the temperature. There is a smart fan mode toggle for these fans as well, should I just enable that.

Really unsure where to start.

msi x670e tomahawk
phantom spirit 120se
64gb ram

Thanks for any help

Fiddle hahaha got a msi b550 so imagine your layout is similar you can use various temperature sensors and set a fan curve, just set mine on a linear curve and they ramp up from 30% - 55% from 30-80° on the cpu temp sensor.

MSI B550 motherboard so as above fairly similar I would expect. I just went into the bios and set each to a custom pwm curve based on cpu temps, mine are all set the same but if you have a 3 in 1 out I'd try having set the out slightly faster. I actually go all the way up to 100% fan speed on my noctua fans unlike D834man though.

https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/guide-how-to-set-up-a-fan-curve-in-the-bios.369711/ should give you a basic run down of what to do.

Thanks chaps.

I might just raise the speed to what I’m comfortable with noise wise, instead of setting curves.
My cpu fan has a set curve already, so will leave that be, perhaps raise the rear outtake fan a bit more than the 3 intake fans, as suggested.
