Case fan too loud

Hi guys

well i got all my parts today

built it and all is running good

i decided to put a case fan in for extra cooling

however the thing is running at full wack and is properly loud lol

Ive tried using speedfan and it wont turn it down and cant seem to find anything in the bios either to turn it down

oh and its plugged on the motherboard. 3 pin connector i believe

any ideas?

I have always found easier to use a fan speed controller or a speed reduction cables rather than realying on software.

Not all motherboard headers are controllable Via speedfan or similar. Check your manual which allow control and use them. If not then you'll need a fan controller of some kind, or the 7v trick, or a suitable resistor, or get a fan that will be quiet enough at full speed.

Yeh must admit in my experience Fan Controllers are the way to go for sorting the
speed of fans out must more reliable that software.

On the lookout myself for a cheap fan controller,only need it to reduce the speed of 2 case fans.The fans are 3 pin connections btw.Will watch this thread for any good suggestions.

The AK-FC-03 is pretty good - I've got one in my rig. The zalman controller is ok as well, but only 1 channel, so limited usefulness.

Ah now thats what i call cheap,did they do the trick.
My case is a BitFenix Colossus Red LED Big Tower Windowed Case which as a door at the front so wouldnt see a flashy fan controller behind it anyway.

I do like the look of the Lamptron FC2 5.25" Bay Fan Controller - Black.
l think digital controllers just look too fussy.I will have to do a little research and make sure the nobs on the controller wont stop my door from closing.
