Just had to install a new 650w PSU to go with my 1070 and now two of the case fans are no longer controlled.
Previously they were connected to the mobo and via specific fan molex power leads on the psu - the fans were controlled via the bios.
Now the fans are connected to the mobo and psu via standard molex they are going full speed and the bios shows them but cant control them. If I disconnect from the PSU they just stop working. My 3rd fan is just connected to the mobo and works correctly.
Any ideas why this might be? Are they getting too much power?
Z170 mobo and EVGA 650 GQ.
Also probably a very stupid question - my MSI 1070 needs 6 and 8 pin - the PSU has two sets of these VGA1 and VGA2. I assume I only need to connect one cable to VGA1 and the other end has both 6 and 8 pin. Presumably VGA2 is for SLI? My old PSU was 9 years old and not modular hence the confusion.
