Case fans

I bought a new case and I love it - HAF X - but I have one of those questions which are so daft you have to check....

Does it matter if I connect the fans into the molex connector or the motherboard connector? Will it spin at max speed in either? I currently have two fans into the motherboard and two into a molex connector so just double checking

Chances are you can change the voltage going to them if you plug into motherboard, but I believe default is max speed.
