Case for 360mm rad

Evening all

Got sucked into parts to refresh my PC now and rather than hanging a 360mm rad off the back of my current case I have been looking at cases that will accommodate one

Just having trouble choosing - anybody got any suggestions for a low-mid priced mid tower case that’ll take a 360mm rad and I really like PSU shrouds so maybe one of those too...? I’ve been looking at a Fractal Design Define S which ticks every box apart from the shroud! Could always make one of course but I’d rather get a case that had one in the first place.

Nothing that looks too much like a cyborg either, I’m past all that :p I don’t need any DVD drive bays (can’t remember the last time I used my DVD burner so it can go in my drawer in an external housing)

Shortlist is the Fractal Define S, Coolermaster Masterbox Lite 5, Corsair Carbide 270R and the Antec P110 Luce... the Thermaltake Core X71 was a strong contender but is too big to go where I want it :(

Thinking now along the lines of either the Carbide 270R or the P110... nobody got any other suggestions for a case that will take a 360mm rad (preferably front mounted) and has a PSU shroud?

270R would be the practical choice and ticks every box but the looks aren't really drawing me in... P110 is a real looker on the outside but the inside looks a little odd and there is a question mark over the front radiator for me...

Strong contender looks wise is the Carbide 400C, I could squeeze a 360mm 36mm deep rad in the front if I used a slim fan in the lower “slot” and two high static pressure fans in the upper two but I can’t decide if it would look weird and IDK if it would compromise cooling having a low SP fan on 1/3 of the radiator

Favourite is the 570X but it’s a bit expensive and I don’t fancy the idea of having all my cable management behind the motherboard on show as I don’t use custom length cables

Awesome thank you. That’s perfect for what I’m after, I see it’s pretty much new which is why I probably haven’t seen it yet. Pushing the budget a bit but otherwise it's perfect.

To keep my budget options open I've been looking at the
Deepcool Earlkase
Carbide 270R (ticks every box and solid but not too inspiring looks wise)
Thermaltake View 27
Cooler Master Masterbox 5 + bracket
Gamemax Polaris

Any opinions on those?

Unfortunately the sacrifice with the lower budget cases seems to be dust filters which is a little annoying but I would think easy to add/make some.

Bequiet Base 700 - can be flipped upside down but is costly! its cheaper Pure 600 sibling doesn't have the flashy appeal as some others

That is a good call but you're right about it being costly! I'd sooner save £30 or so and go for the Fractal R6 I think! Love the look of it though....

Fractal R6 if you can push your budget a little, will last you years :)

Yeah it does seem pretty much "the one" - does everything I want, I love the look and is just about close enough to the budget lol, although it seems a tad expensive IMO compared to other comparable cases...

I've been looking at a lot of In Win 303 builds that look absolutely awesome with the fan arrangement at the top and bottom, anyone got any thoughts on that?

There are some other options if you are willing to wait:) sometime in March there will be Lian Li latest case with plenty of options for radiators/fans/airflow 119$ so should be around a 100£ here. Nice quality, designed with der8auer (known overclocker:) )

Ooh that’s quite a looker - I like that a lot especially if it’s £100 or thereabouts, sounds like the “water cooling” version might be a tad more expensive but I’ll be keeping an eye out for that (the “blackout” R6 doesn’t come out until March either apparently so I’d have to wait either way)

They are both the same for watercooling, the more expensive one has more glass ;) so might have actually be a little worse...

Interesting!! I'm sure @ChugNorris has his beady eye on these babies, and will let us all know when he has more (pre-order) info ;)

Ah okay haha, I like glass side panels but otherwise I’m not bothered so that suits me. Great looking case though, probably the best I’ve seen and I think if it comes in around the £100 mark I’ll be picking one up...

Just had another look and the one with the big logo on the front is absolutely gopping (and I think that’s the expensive one too) but the meshy one is nice :D

Hope the $120 does translate to around the £100 mark and not £120!

The one with logo was with custom built reservoir, just for the show.
Here is how they will look, retail versions mesh/glass.

Very exciting stuff from Lian-Li there!! I'm def interested in the Dynamic :)
Yeah it does look very promising, so many options for radiators with good airflow and organisation inside. Even though those grills are plastic, they still look very nice and USB C included in this low price. Looking forward to some reviews.

How about the new Corsair Obsidian 500D that's coming out next month? the hinged glass doors look fantastic, can only stick a 360 rad in the front though, and only a 240/280 in the top.

That does look nice but there are a few design elements I'm not a fan of... not sold on the looks and I don't think I could get my cable management good enough to not look like a huge mess with that glass panel on the cable side lol, don't know why they do that, what proportion of PC users in total use custom PSU cables?
