What kind of case size should I be looking at for this? Ideally as small as possible while leaving a little space for a graphics card should I ever need to add one in - unlikely as it's only going to be used to host sites/games etc. from home, and if I do add one in it'll probably be a small one. But yeah, I've never had to look for a good case that isn't huge before... no idea about system board size to case size though.

What's your a budget and how many hard drives do you intend to install?

I've just finished building my home server and used a Fractal Define R5. This is a great case and I highly recommend it. Space behind the mobo tray for 2 SSDs and upfront space for eight hard drives which should be plenty. Lots of room for airflow too. It's not exactly small though, so consider that if it's a major concern.

I'll probably throw 1x SSD and 1x HDD in there. Perhaps 2x HDD in the long run, if only for easy transfer of data between old and new drives as they retire.

For budget, while cost isn't really an issue, I'm not really keen on spending a huge deal if it's not going to heavily impact things. Looking for a "good value" kinda case that won't cause me problems. Looks are really unimportant to me, but I'd prefer not having a white case - silvers and blacks are good.

EDIT: And yeah, smaller size is preferred. And it should probably be noted that this won't be seeing heavy use, so won't need extensive cooling.
