Hi,

in my quest to build a near silent pc I have purchased a Gigabyte 9800GT Silent Cell GPU, but it measures at around 26.5cm.

I am now looking for a decent case that would big enough to house the card but that needs to have good sound dampening and as few fans as possible, edit: while staying reasonably cool.

Most of the time the pc will be used for web browsing, programming etc etc but there will be some gaming.

CPU will likely be a Phenom II 905e (TWP @ 65W) though in the future I may upgrade to a 955BE or faster depending on what's available at the time.

I had considered a Lian-Li PC-B25B which, at £154.99, is about as much as I'd like to spend but would consider paying more if suitably justified :) From what I've read it should just about fit the gpu in.

Any suggestions?

Thanks :)

The antec p1** series is very good if you want a quiet machine, i can't recommend it enough(i have a p182) as you will not have to change stock fans as the tri cool fans are pretty good on low.

some good foam is all you need
Reality is just that there pretty much aren't any cases with good foam installed at stock. Foams like in B10 and so many other cases is entirely too light and thin to have any real effect except to look like foam.

Antec P-series heavy multilayer panels both resist vibrations and contain sound.
Adding bitumen mat to panels of normal case has same effect to noise when HDDs are soft mounted and there's door blocking direct noise escape path.
