Hello,

I'm thinkng about knocking together a basic file/print server in the next couple of weeks using various spare bits I have but will need a case to build it in.

The main thing I'm looking at is size so it can be tucked away somewhere (I'll hopefully have a micro ATX board to use) and noise. I'd also like a good quality case which will last rather than a generic or no name brand. A PSU included with the case would be a good bonus.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received

Thanks :)

I would suggest this Not a looker but cheap..

Being an Antec, the PSU will be good. If you want a better looking model then consider the Antec NSK2400 with 380W SmartPower PSU. The Fusion (as mentioned by a previous poster) is great but expensive and has features you'll probably not need.

well I have a nas (synology) which has a print server and its not as fast as my server by a long shot when printing, although it is practical - I've stuck an a4 printer on it :).

As to the case for the server, look at the lian li g50, v600 or a05, all basically the same size and all can take a full atx case :)

I use the g50 for my server and it works a treat with my caddy etc, running an x2 4200+ (89w) and it idles at sub 30 degrees on air.
