Case for my son

They are aimed at low/mid range builds, and feedback from both our SI department and our customers is that they are happy with the product quality and it's easy to build into.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm planning on putting my Asus pt6 with a Xeon and a gtx590

Do you think I could fit a water loop in there?

Ive got a GPU and CPU block thats unused so I would only need a pump and 240 rad at the top

Or would you recommend something else? This case only stood out because of the colours. I think he will like it

How much kit are you actually putting in and how large do you want the build to be? And what age is your son?

I'm in the middle of putting some unused hardware to use for my lads, they share a room and PC, 10yrs and 12yrs.

They love the NZXT S340 in whyte, I put one together a while back, RGB lighting by Phobya, so any colour they want inside. As it is sitting unused I plan on giving them that.

The S340 is a really nice small size, looks great and is easy to build into. Can take a 240 radiator or AIO, and the PSU shroud is great, SSD size mounts on top for two 2.5" drives, you can even fit hdds in the bottom.

Not a lot to go wrong. No uneccesary components, nor wasted space.

He's almost 8

What I'm putting in is

Xeon 5650
Asus p6t
16gb ram
Either gtx480 sli or gtx590 but I might get him something new as I dont game that much these days
Corsair h80
500gb HD
120 ssd
Corsair 600w psu

Got him a brand new keyboard and mouse so I just need a monitor/TV and speakers if I get him a monitor.

I don't think the case quality needs to be that special, it just needs to look good. The cooling needs to be decent because both cards are toasty cards

The NZXT S340 can be upgraded with an RGB kit for around £15 and it gives a most impressive WOW factor for the small outlay.

Honestly regardless of price I cant think of a more straightforward no frills just do the job as it should be case. As I said, I have one in the loft. My lads are getting that with a Phobya RGB kit installed. Im also tempted to do another build in an S340 as my daughter wants a PC, and maybe even a third if the kids are not bothered about some spares I have.

Have you Googled NZXT Source 340 with RGB lighting, or watercooling, just to get an idea of what it can do?

You could use 240 rad upfront for watercooling. Possibly a 280 but I think 240 is easier. If your not intending on using the HDD bay the rivets can be drilled and with a bit of work a pump or pump/res can go there, the cable bracket can also take a res I think. Depending on initial build and GPU etc, there are a few watercooling options. One of the easiest being an XSPC Ion fitted to the rear 120mm fan with a 240 rad upfront.

Just had a quick look and it looks ok. Ive had a few antec things over the years so I know this will be good quality. Little bit over what I wanted to spend

Cheers

Edit, just noticed it has a fan controller as well. That's pretty cool. I can picture my son annoying me with that haha. Can more fans be added to it? Description doesn't say much about it on the site I looked at.
