So my Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultra+ kit arrived today, and as I thought its not going to fit on the back of my coolmaster wavemaster. I've been having a look around and really dont have a clue which case would be best for me.
I really liked my current cases looks, but its poor airflow and now the limited space on the rear (80mm fan) means its time to upgrade.

I need some case which will fit this http://www.swiftnets.com/products/H20-220-APEX.asp. Any suggestions?

Maybe should have posted this in the case section, but figured its more a wc question :)

Ideally you want something that has 2 120mm fan spaces at the back already - Gigabyte Aurora or Coolermaster Stacker immediately come to mind.

Cheers guys, the Akasa deffinatly has the best looks. Is it worth getting a 2 fan one instead as I do like the look of this one
And unless I'm blind the stacker only has 1 rear fan slot. The Gigabyte would probably be the easier one to fit the rad on, shame about the looks.

Hmm, hate buying cases.

The swiftech kit come with a 'radbox' - a spacer which attaches to the rear of your case alloting you to fit a dual rad(120.2 which comes with the swifty kit) to one 120mm fan space without blocking off your backplates. You then fit the fans to the radiator. Of course this is assuming you wish to have the radiator mounted externally.

I had one of those Swiftech kits and the radbox concept works fine, but it does block the ports to a certain extent. Depending on how you have it big DVI cables are a no-no.

All these things are a compromise though.

Well I think i'll go for that gigabyte, going to pop to a shop shortly to have a close look.

Also one really stupid question, where do you get distilled water? :D

Please don't let me put you off the Eclipse - it's a much better case, but do be sure that anything under that fan shroud will be less than 1" deep.

And the easiest place for distilled water is usually car accessory shops.

I've mounted my radbox on top of my Eclipse. Looks a bit weird but works well. I had to do it because of space problems on my work surface (have to share it with my wife....the nerve of it! )

Well I went to a big store in bolton to have a look, but they wouldn't let me see the cases :( So i came home and ordered the eclipse from overclockers. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow. Hope it does go on the back ok

It should be ok. The raised 120mm fan grill only sticks out by 4-5mm.

Tho you may have to take a Dremel to the little honeycomb grill at the bottom to get a tube through it.

Well its arrived and its a very nice case, thanks for the advice. Now I just need to get my head around fitting this cooling

Wow this is really a pain in the ****. Got the rad on fine, cut the holes in the case and it all looks neat. However I just can't get these damn pipes on the blocks  :( So much for leaving it running over night to check for leaks.

I know 2 tricks for this. The first is the trick you probably learned in Chemistry classes years ago - spread a little saliva round the barb as it's a phenomenal lubricant.

The second (and probably wiser now you're not allowed to put anything in mouth in a lab anymore - let alone a rubber pipe  ) is to get a bowl of VERY hot water and use that to soften the end of the piping so it's easier to slip over the barb.

I tried hot water late last night and got a couple on, I'll give them a good lick to see it that helps more :D

Also the 20 little heatsinks you get for the video card ram, just dont stick on. Which combined with the tubing last night had left me a little miffed. Anyway new day now, lets see how it goes...

I know you have a new case now. But why didn't it fit on the Wavemaster? It fitted perfectly on my ATCS111 (very similar design at the back I think). There should have been an adapter to fit the radbox to 80mm fans. Or have I missed something?

There wasn't room to get the pipes in on the wave master, plus the airflow was pants

I've got it all setup and running sweet... or so I thought :'(

I didn't bother with the northbridge block as it was never hot, and I figured with my gpu and cpu giving out a lot of heat, I'd just use the watercooling for them. However the temps on it have shot up on the motherboard, I guess the big cpu heatsink next to it would have got rid of some of the heat.

What a pain, means i'm going to have to figure out how to drain it and then get the other block on the motherboard.

Whats the best way to drain it? Or any other suggestions. Why oh why didn't i use the motherboard one at the time :(
